Blazers Injury Report: Anfernee Simons in Danger of Missing Bulls Matchup

In this story:
The Portland Trail Blazers could be without their top guard and longest-tenured player, Anfernee Simons.
Simons is listed as questionable due to an elbow strain.
Blazers insider Sean Highkin shared the update via X.
For tonight, Deni Avdija and Deandre Ayton are probable to play. Anfernee Simons is now questionable with a right elbow strain. They're listing Robert Williams III as out with left ankle soreness but he hasn't been playing on back-to-backs all season.

Simons is in danger of missing the Blazers second leg of a back-to-back. Nonetheless, as things stand, the Trail Blazers aren't exactly in a position to push their players at less than 100 percent.
Simons has only missed three games thus far this season. The last time he was on the court, it was not pretty.
In Saturday's contest, Simons performed poorly by his standards. He scored 13 points on 38.5 percent shooting from the field, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 32 minutes of action in the loss to the Houston Rockets.
Simons bounced back mightily. His previous game, prior to Saturday's, was abysmal; he recorded zero points in 30 minutes of action against the Los Angeles Clippers.
In the season, Simons has done quite well for his team, averaging 18.0 points per game, 2.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 0.9 steals while shooting 42 percent from the field and 36.1 percent from three in 31.9 minutes of action and 38 games.
Simons is the only player on the injury report. The Blazers will be without their top players, like rookie center Donovan Clingan, Matisse Thybulle, who has yet to play this season, and defensive-minded center Robert Williams III.
The only center the Blazers will have is a big man, Deandre Ayton, who is on the injury report. Luckily for the Blazers, he is listed as probable due to lower back soreness.
Both teams are currently on losing streaks. The Bulls are on a four-game losing streak, and the Blazers are on a five-game losing streak.
The Trail Blazers have gone 8-12 in home games and will seek their ninth win at the Moda Center. Portland allows 117.1 points to opponents and has been outscored by 9.3 points per game.
The Bulls are 10-9 on the road, having a better record away from their home crowd. Chicago is 9-8 against opponents with a losing record.
The Blazers are 2-8 in their last 10 games, averaging 106.3 points, 42.1 rebounds, 24.4 assists, 7.3 steals, and 4.9 blocks per game while shooting 46.0 percent from the field. Their opponents have averaged 117.0 points per game.
