NBA Champion Shares Harsh Message for Warriors

ESPN analyst and NBA champion Kendrick Perkins recently unleashed a bold take about the Golden State Warriors, and specifically Steph Curry vs. LeBron James:

"I'm done with the old news. I'm moving forward. Number one, this is why the Warriors are not a threat. And when we say a threat, we're talking about them winning a championship. Every single season that they have Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, it's championship or nothing for them. And as long as LeBron James is in the Western Conference, Steph Curry really hasn't done anything without Kevin Durant when it comes down to matching up with LeBron James."

Perkins went on to list the teams he believes are better than the Warriors, and included the Sacramento Kings that Golden State just eliminated. Calling the Warriors old news, Perkins believes their run is officially over. Having been eliminated by the Lakers in last year's Western Conference Semi-Finals, Golden State is hoping to get back on top, but Perkins doesn't think that's possible anymore.

Re-signing Draymond Green to a four-year contract with a player option for the final season, the Warriors clearly believe they can remain in contention. Pivoting away from their two-timeline plan, the Warriors are focused on trying to get back to their championship ways. Perkins doesn't believe they can, but many analysts said this after 2021, as well.
