Steph Curry Makes History in Massive Game 5 Win vs. Kings

Securing a massive Game 5 victory to take a 3-2 lead over the Sacramento Kings, the Golden State Warriors now have an opportunity to clinch the series on their home floor in Game 6. Led by Steph Curry, the Warriors got 31 points and 8 assists from their superstar point guard. Curry also made NBA history in this game, passing Magic Johnson for 15th all-time in playoff scoring.

It was a dominant showing from Curry and his teammates, as the Warriors silenced all the noise about their road struggles this season, winning by far their biggest road game of the year. Having lost the first two games of the series, both of which came in Sacramento, the Warriors were hearing the noise about their inability to win on the road. Silencing that in Game 5, Golden State has taken a 3-2 series lead, and will look to close things out at home.

Should the Warriors advance, they will play the winner of the Grizzlies and Lakers series, which currently sits in favor of Los Angeles. While the Lakers lost to Memphis on Wednesday, they still lead the series 3-2, and have an opportunity to close it out at home in Game 6.

Winning three-straight games to take a series lead after falling down 0-2, the Warriors are one win away from a first round victory.
