Why The Wizards Will Struggle Tonight Against 76ers

Why The Wizards Are In For A Long Night Tonight

This game against the Philadelphia 76ers tonight will be an interesting one. Both the Wizards and 76ers have failed to make the NBA In Season Tournament. With that being the case, both teams have had some time to rest and get their bodies right, including former Wizard Kelly Oubre. He is set to return to the 76ers lineup in his first game of action in which he missed almost a month of hoops. The Wizards have had time to figure things out on what perhaps they could do better at. Despite it being the case, the Wizards will still have their hands full simply because of who they are playing tonight, the reigning MVP Joel Embiid.

The Washington Wizards (3-15) are facing the Philadelphia 76ers (12-7) in one game home matchup before hitting the road for a two-game road trip. This game will be the second of four matchups between Philadelphia and Washington this season. The Wizards lost Friday against the Orlando Magic 130-125.

The Bottom Line

There is no one tougher to play against than a big man who is as dominant as Joel Embiid. Many felt as if he shouldn’t have won the MVP Award last season. This season, he is showing us why he was the right choice. He has battled injuries all throughout his NBA Career. He has had a lot of rest recently as he hasn’t played in over a week now. He has had nine days of rest. His last game he played, Embiid had a triple double in just three quarters of play against LeBron James and the LA Lakers. Not only is the big man scoring as he always does, but he is rebounding at an efficient rate as well as finding his teammates and getting assist too. The Wizards are certain to struggle, especially giving the amount of rest Joel Embiid has had.
