Wizards Welcoming Back A Familiar Face Tonight /

The schedule of the Washington Wizards have a lot of memory lane games going on at the moment. In the Wizards last game, it was Tyus Jones playing his former team in the Memphis Grizzlies which ultimately resulted in a win. That game was the best the Wizards have looked thus far in the season. Tonight, the same circumstances will be presented with hopes of the same outcome as the Wizards will be playing against a guy who was instrumental to EVERYTHING the Wizards did last season, Kristaps Porzingis.

The Bottom Line

It is so early in the NBA season, you can’t really assess your opponents quite yet. Everyone is currently feeling out their teams this season. They are trying to figure out what rotations work, what is the best strategy, or even what they may need to improve on. The Boston Celtics are in a unique position. They basically have a new starting five and new team as well. Jrue Holiday is the new point guard running the show for them. Kristaps Porzingis is the new anchor down low and in the middle for this team.

What’s challenging is the fact that Kristaps Porzingis is someone who can hurt you from multiple areas on the floor in multiple ways. What’s even more challenging is the fact that he’s playing next to a top ten, maybe even top five player in the NBA in Jayson Tatum. That is why Porzingis has been so effective in efficiency this season. The only thing wearing the Celtics out is lack of depth.

The Wizards will do well in attacking the Celtics defensively. That needs to be their gameplan. They need to get Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Kristaps Porzingis in foul trouble. They need to wear them out since the Celtics lack in depth. This will be a challenge for the young Wizards but this is a game that they are more than capable of winning. Coach Wes Unseld Jr should go deep into his bench rotation tonight.
