Former Wizard Big Now A Free Agent

This thing that we call life is often a journey for many of us. Often times when we go through something, it has a lot of ups and downs. We have our highs and our lows. Life is never steady for many of us and we have to change our gameplan as we go along with things. That is the case for Philadelphia 76ers big man Montrezl Harrell. Harrell spent some time with the Washington Wizards a few years back and it appears his journey will continue elsewhere. It was reported that the Philadelphia 76ers have waived Montrezl Harrell.

The Philadelphia 76ers are waiving center Montrezl Harrell, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Harrell’s ACL/meniscus injury and absence make him the release due to a roster crunch, but he’s aiming to make a return after the All-Star break.

He was a good piece for the 76ers and would still be a key piece elsewhere in the league for who ever decided to offer him a contract. The release from the 76ers was simply a move done because of his injury that he is currently rehabbing. Since he has not been slated to miss the entire 2023-24 NBA Regular Season, he is hoping for a return to the court after the NBA Allstar Festivities.

76ers will continue supporting Harrell in his rehab and recovery plan, sources said.

It is extremely hard to come back from any injury in sports, but returning from an injury such as this for the big man may be a bit of a hurdle for him. Despite it all, the Philadelphia 76ers will still support Harrell in his rehabilitation from this injury. You have to wonder is Montrezl Harrell’s career is over or is this just a bump in the road. Time will tell as this season goes on and he gets healthy.
