New Head Coach Named For The Wizards G League Affiliate

In this story:
When you see changes from top to bottom in life, you know the company wants to succeed. Not only do they want to succeed, but they are also hoping for a longterm plan to be in place. Changes like that sends a message to the world that they have goals and want to be the best of the best in the business.
The Washington Wizards made yet another change that doesn’t necessarily affect them directly, but it will for sure have an affect for them in the long run. The Wizards G-League affiliate team, the Capital City Go-Go, were in need of a trusting Head Coach. They have named Cody Toppert to fulfill this role.
The Washington Wizards are hiring LSU assistant Cody Toppert to be the franchise’s G League head coach with the Capital City Go-Go, sources tell ESPN. Toppert previously worked with the Phoenix Suns as an NBA assistant and G League head coach.

Toppert will have the opportunity to win immediately in the G-League. There’s a chance that Johnny Davis could have some playing time there. Johnny Davis had a solid year with them last season and his improvement showed a lot late in the season for the Washington Wizards. Johnny barely took the court early on in the season last year for the Wizards. Many believed he wasn’t the right pick and that he may even had been a bust.
Johnny Davis quickly changed the narrative on that story as he balled out for the Wizards to close the season out and looked like a player who belonged in the NBA. That may be the case for Wizards Rookie Bilal Coulibaly. More than likely, the Wizards will take the same approach with him as they did with Johnny Davis and bring Bilal along slowly. New Capital City Go-Go Head Coach Cody Toppert should have a smooth transition into his new role by having him on the team.
