The Washington Wizards may be a team that will enter into trade conversations soon. In fact, those conversations may be going on at this very minute. Most teams around the NBA have had December 15th marked on their calendars as that is the day many players have become trade eligible. Those players are the players that have been recently acquired rather it was through a trade or free agency during the offseason.

REPORT: Wizards Leaving the District, Moving to Virginia

Now that the December 15th date has come and gone, all bets are now on the table. The Wizards may be looking to spice things up. However, those moves may be to build for the future as they have big plans coming soon. They very well may not even be the Washington Wizards in the coming years as the move to Northern Virginia is on the horizons. Now is the perfect time to build for that time and moment.

The moves that the Wizards may and should strongly consider is moving on from Johnny Davis and Delon Wright. Both players have bright futures and are some of the most talented guards on a budget in the entire league. Teams are always trying to save money and avoid getting into the luxury tax when it comes to salary. They both are on team friendly deals and can really help any team. The only issue for the Wizards is when can they help them.

Both Delon Wright and Johnny Davis have struggled to stay healthy over the years. Now the injuries haven’t been season ending injuries which is great. However, the Wizards need them as they aren’t the deepest rostered team in the league. Delon Wright would offer a bright spot for any contender as he is one of the league’s best defenders. If he could stay healthy, you may be considering him for a defensive player of the year canidate. He certainly has value.

Johnny Davis: Unleashed

Johnny Davis was a top ten draft pick two summers ago. He hasn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what he could become. He just needs more time and to stay healthy on the court to develop. He is far from a bust. He played well for the Capital City Go Go last season in the G League and he even played well for the Wizards late last season too. He could be a future key piece, maybe even borderline all star somewhere in the NBA. Packaging both Delon Wright and Johnny Davis could possibly warrant a first round draft pick by a team. You may even be able to get another player too that can stay healthy and help the Wizards now. The Wizards should strongly consider moving on from both Delon Wright and Johnny Davis.
