With the recent shake up within the Washington Wizards' front office, many people are expecting this team to make some major splashes soon. However, the major splashes may not be exactly what the rest of the league and their executives are currently expecting. Chatter around the league says that the Wizards may be on the brink of a rebuild. The veteran and superstar of the team is on the back end of his career. Bradley Beal is currently on a massive super max deal. His salary is eating up the cap and doesn’t allow much flexibility for the makeup of the rest of the roster. With his salary and age, the time to win is now.

Kyle Kuzma is approaching his 30’s (27 years old) as well as Kristaps Porzingis (27 years old) too. There is no better time than the present to go for it all now. Well, as we know, the Wizards need to upgrade the point guard position. When opportunity comes knocking, it’s best to answer the door immediately.

The biggest news story of the day is that the Phoenix Suns are releasing veteran point guard Chris Paul. This is making him an unrestricted free agent. At this point of his career, he won’t expect to sign an expensive contract. This is the perfect opportunity for the Wizards to find the guard they have been looking for. They won’t have to give up any assets to get him and that is the beauty of the situation- they can still draft the guard of the future and have Chris Paul as well. Another option would be to trade the pick and bring in another high end starter as well. Chris Paul could be the glue to this puzzle in Washington that is still trying to get complete. You think the Russell Westbrook experience was a success? This would be even better. Keep an eye out on this team.
