Wizards Summer League Tips Off This Saturday

In this story:
The game of basketball never seems to take a break. Immediately following the end of the NBA Finals is the NBA Offseason. Calling it an offseason is a bit of a head scratcher as this may be the busiest time of the year for a lot of NBA Franchises. The offseason is headlined by the NBA Draft - the moment where many dreams will come true. The draft is only 60 slots, so only 60 individuals will hear their names called from the stage at the draft. However, there are still ample opportunities for many who didn’t get drafted to the NBA. There are a ton of non drafted free agents to choose from. All of these players look forward to the even immediately following the NBA Draft - the NBA Summer League.
While some teams tipped off early for Summer League action, the Washington Wizards will begin their NBA Summer League this Saturday July 8th where they will play a familiar opponent who they opened the NBA Regular Season against last year, the Indiana Pacers.
This season of Summer League Play is huge for the Wizards. The team is so young and this will be the first time we see a lot of guys with the franchise, including 1st Round Draft Pick rookie Bilal Coulibaly. Below is the full roster for the Wizards Summer League Team.
Wizards Summer League roster includes Bilal Coulibaly, Johnny Davis, Xavier Cooks, Quenton Jackson & Tristan Vukcevic. Washington will be coached by Landon Tatum, who spent last season as associate head coach for the Capital City Go-Go. #DCAboveAll #NBA pic.twitter.com/tpL5dU3Dsd

This will be a very important time and moment for second year pro Johnny Davis. Davis didn’t see the floor much for the Washington Wizards last season. However, he did manage to log a lot of minutes for the last couple of weeks of the regular season. That goes to make many wonder will he have a larger role for this team this upcoming season? Tune in this Saturday July 8th, 2023 to see Johnny Davis and the rest of the Washington Wizards on ESPN 2 as they begin their summer at 8PM ET.
