Damar Hamlin ‘Trending in Right Direction’ for Return, per Bills GM

Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who went into cardiac arrest on the field during a Week 17 game against the Bengals on Jan. 2, is “ trending in the right direction” for a potential return to football, Bills general manager Brandon Beane told reporters Thursday.

“Everything has checked out to this point, so it’s trending in the right direction,” Beane said, per Katherine Fitzgerald of the Buffalo News.

Beane added that Hamlin has been dialed in and “definitely has every intention to play” once he is cleared to return to action.

The latest encouraging update regarding Hamlin continues an unbelievable recovery story. Hamlin, who needed to be revived on the field and then hospitalized for over a week in Cincinnati, is now looking more and more likely to play football again.

If cleared, he’ll be welcomed back to the field in Buffalo with open arms. Hamlin’s turnaround is already an incredible comeback story, but it appears there is another chapter to be written.

If he continues to progress, it sounds like that chapter—a return to the playing field—will happen sooner rather than later.
