ESPN Ranks Bengals Roster Core Among NFL's Top Five

The Bengals have an elite young core.

CINCINNATI — ESPN's Seth Walder released his NFL roster core rankings this week and the Cincinnati Bengals checked in at No. 2 behind the Kansas City Chiefs.

The analytics expert included QB Joe Burrow, WR Ja'Marr Chase, WR Tee Higgins, DE Trey Hendrickson, OT Orlando Brown Jr. among the top core players

That crew rounds out to an average age of 25.6 years old—the youngest of any team in the top 10.

"Burrow isn't the second-best quarterback on this list, but an exceptional 1-2 punch at receiver, a high-end pass-rusher, and a strong offensive tackle boosts the Bengals to first in the non-Mahomes division," Walder wrote. "Of the group, Hendrickson is perhaps most overlooked but is very deserving to be here, ranking fourth in pass rush win rate among edge rushers last season."

Cincinnati is set up to win for multiple years, with only Tee Higgins entering a contract season in 2023.
