Cincinnati got fantastic 2023 production out of this player.

CINCINNATI — There was a clear choice for MVP of the Bengals 2023 season and the Cincinnati chapter of the Pro Football Writer's Association hit the mark with Trey Hendrickson. Ja'Marr Chase and DJ reader had decent cases, but none as impactful as Hendrickson's campaign

The veteran pass rusher was fantastic in 2023, posting a career-high 17.5 sacks along with 43 total tackles.

“Trey Hendrickson proved his immense value to the Bengals defense as one of the most reliable and dominant pass rushers in the NFL,” said chapter vice president Mike Petraglia. "He recorded a career-high in sacks despite often being the target of double teams and scheming to account for his explosiveness off the edge.”

The seventh-year player out of Florida Atlantic University finished the 2023 campaign tied for second in the NFL in sacks with a career-high 17.5.

He lined up for 742 defensive snaps, the most in his career, and added 79 pressures. That marked the second most of his career behind the 2021 season (87). Cincinnati smartly extended him this past offseason to a deal running through the 2025 season.
