Report: Bengals Still Interested In Free Agent Running Back Jamaal Williams
CINCINNATI — Jamaal Williams is still on the Bengals radar.
Cincinnati lost Samaje Perine to the Denver Broncos on Tuesday and could sign Williams to be the new change-of-pace running back.
Tyler Dunne reports other interested teams include the Bills, Panthers, and Bears, as the running back market stays ice-cold.
Williams led the NFL in rushing touchdowns last season (17), largely due to short carries but could be a nice close-range weapon for Cincinnati's deadly red-zone offense.
We should find out soon how close he gets to the original $4.1 million Spotrac projection after the Bengals let Perine walk for less than that.
The Lions reportedly signed David Montgomery on Tuesday, making a Williams return unlikely.
