Bengals Place Joe Burrow on Injured Reserve, Activate Chase Brown For Steelers Game

Cincinnati really needs an AFC win.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals officially placed star quarterback Joe Burrow on injured reserve. The 26-year-old will miss the rest of the 2023 season after tearing a ligament in his right wrist.

Jake Browning will start at quarterback on Sunday against the Steelers. He’ll have an extra weapon.

Rookie running back Chase Brown was activated from injured reserve and will play against Pittsburgh.

Brown has been out since Oct. 15 when Cincinnati beat Seattle. He missed the past four games with a hamstring injury.

He should help with Cincinnati's lacking running back depth that could get tested even more with extra carries as Burrow recovers his wrist injury.

Brown has two carries for six yards this season and three catches for seven yards.

The Bengals also elevated quarterback AJ McCarron from the practice squad. He'll be the backup behind Browning for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh
