CINCINNATI — Things could get ugly in the Tee Higgins saga.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Higgins has requested a trade after the team franchised tagged him this offseason.

"Higgins loves Cincinnati and hoped to be with the team long term, but is disappointed that the team has not had any talks about a long-term contract extension since March 2023. He’s ready to move on to a new home," Adam Schefter tweeted.

Cincinnati was slated pay Higgins $21.8 million on the tag if they couldn't agree to a long-term deal. He was the first NFL player to get tagged in 2024.

He has 3,684 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in 58 career games with the Bengals.
