Jordan Battle on Learning The NFL Game: 'That's Why I Like Nick Saban'

In this story:
CINCINNATI — The Bengals slotted rookie safety Jordan Battle into the starting lineup for the first OTA practice open to the media this week as veteran Nick Scott recovers from a shoulder injury.
The rookie was excited about the action as he makes his way over from the fire of Alabama football.
"That's why I like Nick Saban," Battle told reporters about the biggest thing he's focused on in this early period. "Biggest thing is communication. Every day gotta get better with your communication. No matter who you're on the field with, just making sure everyone is on the same page, and that's what allows us to make plays defense."
Battle was a third-team AP All-American last season and a first-team all-conference pick after logging 71 tackles, 1 interception, and 2 pass breakups in 13 starts for the Crimson Tide.
The third-round pick has a lot of big-game experience and could make an impact early in his rookie campaign.
"Just trying to show how I improve every day," Battle said. "Whether that's studying at home, studying in the meeting rooms. Paying attention, doing what I can do to further my game, better my game every step of the way.
