Four New Additions to Buffalo Bills' Injury List Include Terrel Bernard, Jude Bowry

In this story:
The good news for the Buffalo Bills is they still have more than two full weeks to get healthy for the September 13 season opener on the road against the Houston Texans.
The bad news is four new injuries have apparently emerged, according to media on the scene tracking practice participation (h/t Jay Skurski) at One Bills Drive on Monday. Furthermore, six players remain sidelined with their absences dating back at least one full week.
Inside linebacker Terrel Bernard, outside linebacker Javon Solomon, center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger and fourth-round rookie tackle Jude Bowry account for the four new additions.
While Bernard sat out with the other first-team veterans, Solomon (23), Van Pran-Granger (35) and Bowry (17) all played a significant number of snaps in the August 22 preseason road win over the Cleveland Browns.

Wide receivers Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman, who have been banged up since playing in the August 15 preseason opener, were not seen practicing on Monday.
Running back Ty Johnson, center Connor McGovern, defensive lineman Ed Oliver and safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson also missed the first session of the short week with the Bills' exhibition finale scheduled for Thursday, August 27.
Oliver is the only one of the four to have played in the preseason, logging 10 reps as a starter against the Carolina Panthers in the opener. He is currently out due to an undisclosed injury, although it could be related to the issue that kept him out of OTAs. The defensive tackle was present and walking around during Monday's stretch period.

New additions to Bills' injury list
Bowry, who started at right tackle, left the game early against the Browns, and he didn't return after a visit to the medical tent. He was seen wearing a walking boot on Monday inside the Bills' field house.
As for Solomon and Van Pran-Granger, who were both in the starting line-up on Saturday, their injuries are unknown, and the Bills don't have to routinely disclose information until the regular season begins.
It could just be a maintenance day for Bernard, who is apparently over the ankle problem that bothered him throughout 2025.

Two key offensive pieces have been out the longest
McGovern and Johnson have been out since the Return of the Blue & Red practice on August 8. Both players left the field that day with what appeared to be hamstring injuries.
With a four-to-six week recovery likely needed for acute strains, McGovern and Johnson may both enter September as questionable for the season opener. Notably, McGovern's backup, Lloyd Cushenberry, was held out of the last preseason game.

WR injury updates
Shakir and Coleman are both dealing with lower-body issues, but neither appear likely to last for the long term.
Coleman, who was seen with a boot following the August 15 preseason appearance, seemingly tweaked his foot during the game.
