Browns DE Myles Garrett Left off Defensive Player of the Year Finalists List
It will not be this year that Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett grabs his first Defensive Player of the Year award. Garrett was not one of the three finalists for the award announced by the NFL today.
San Francisco 49ers pass rusher Nick Bosa is the favorite with his league-leading 18.5 sacks. Bosa was joined as a finalist by Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Paraons and Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones.
There was a thought that Garrett could make it over Parsons, who had less sacks (13.5) in more games played. Garrett accounted for more of his team's production off the edge with 16 sacks for the second straight season.
Garrett will have to settle for another Pro Bowl and All-Pro nod. Once again next season, you will see Garrett's name thrown around for the DPOY award.
