Browns Sign two Players, Release OL Joe Haeg to Save $2 Million

Cleveland Browns made roster moves to start the week by signing a pair of players and releasing another.

To begin the week, the Cleveland Browns have made three roster moves. Wide receiver Ra’Shaun Henry and tackle Hunter Thedford was signed, while Cleveland announced they released offensive lineman Joe Haeg.

Releasing Haeg saves $2 million in cap space and it was an ideal move with him making a decent chunk of change as backup offensive line depth.

Haeg played in just one game for the Browns due to injury last season. He is a seven-year NFL veteran and spent the first four seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts but has bounced around since then.

Henry is a 6-foot-3 target that played his college ball at Virginia where he had his best season in 2021 bringing in 603 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Henry spent time with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent prior to last season, then with the Atlanta Falcons during the season on the practice squad.

Thedford 6-foot-6 260 pound former college tight end that made the move to tackle as a pro. Last year, Thedford spent time with both the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos practice squads.

Cleveland will resume OTAs this week and will have a couple of new bodies when they get out on the field in Berea.
