Browns Announce Jersey Numbers for Draft Picks

Jersey numbers are in for all seven of the Cleveland Browns draft picks in last month’s NFL Draft.

Buying a player’s jersey isn’t always a good idea right when they are a rookie. With that being said, the Cleveland Browns have announced all seven jersey numbers for their 2023 NFL Draft picks. These numbers are subject to change after roster cuts happen prior to the season.

WR Cedric Tillman is set to rock No. 89 with the Browns, which immediately pops as a number that could change. Tillman wore jersey number 4 in college, which is Deshaun Watson’s number so that obviously won’t happen. Nonetheless, this looks like a number that may not stick for the long haul. TE Stephen Carlson was the last member of the team to daunt 89, from 2019-22.

DT Siaki Ika will be No. 62 in the middle of the defensive line. He gets to keep the number he wore in college, so this would be a safe jersey to purchase.

OT Dawand Jones is set to wear No. 74, which may bring back some bad memories from Cameron Erving, a former first-round pick of the Browns in 2015. Jones has his own path to create, hopefully, a better one for the Browns’ sake.

Stipulations make defensive ends wear certain numbers in the NFL, so it’ll be No. 91 for DE Isaiah McGuire. McGuire wore No. 9 in college. Last season, Stephen Weatherly had the No. 91 for the Browns.

The quarterbacks have to wear something between 1-19, it’ll be No. 17 for QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson. He gets to keep the 7 part from his college number.

CB Cameron Mitchell gets No. 29, most recently worn by CB Herb Miller. The same number has been worn by running backs Hanford Dixon and Duke Johnson in the past.

C Luke Wypler will be No. 56 with the Browns, a slight change from the 53 he wore in college at Ohio State. In the past, the 56 has been worn mostly on defense. Last year it was LB Dakota Allen, a few years ago it was LB Demario Davis.

Now that jersey numbers are out of the way, rookies will be gearing up for the rookie minicamp which begins today. At this time, the Browns have signed five of their seven draft picks.
