Browns DE Myles Garrett Ranked by NFL Personnel Amongst Other Edge Rushers

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was ranked highly by NFL players, executives, coaches, and scouts amongst other defensive ends.

ESPN ranked the top edge rushers in the NFL voted on by coaches, players, executives, and scouts. Of course, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was included and placed in a pretty good spot.

The rankings went as followed:

  1. Nick Bosa – San Francisco 49ers
  2. Myles Garrett – Cleveland Browns
  3. Micah Parsons – Dallas Cowboys
  4. T.J. Watt – Pittsburgh Steelers
  5. Haason Reddick – Philadelphia Eagles
  6. Maxx Crosby – Las Vegas Raiders
  7. Brian Burns – Carolina Panthers
  8. Matthew Judon – New England Patriots
  9. Buffalo Bills – Von Miller
  10. Joey Bosa – Los Angeles Chargers

Coming off of a Defensive Player of the Year award, it’s easy to see why Nick Bosa is leading the way right now. Recent bias is a thing and with the season that he has had (18.5 sacks). The supporting cast as a whole defense for Bosa with the San Francisco 49ers is excellent too.

Garrett has had back-to-back 16-sack seasons but may be in line for his best season yet as a professional. With the additions of Za’Darius Smith and Ogbonnia Okornkwo opposite of him as edge rushers. On the interior, the Browns improved by signing Dalvin Tomlinson, Maurice Hurst, and Trysten Hill. Cleveland drafted Siaki Ika out of Baylor, too.

Five additional edge rushers received honorable mentions:

  • Jaelan Phillips – Miami Dolphins
  • Aidan Hutchinson – Detroit Lions
  • Trey Hendrickson – Cincinnati Bengals
  • Khalil Mack – Los Angeles Chargers
  • Cameron Jordan – New Orleans Saints

Furthermore, several edge rushers received votes:

  • Za’Darius Smith – Cleveland Browns
  • Rashan Gary – Green Bay Packers
  • Danielle Hunter – Minnesota Vikings
  • Chandler Jones – Las Vegas Raiders
  • Josh Sweat – Philadelphia Eagles
  • Uchenna Nwosu – Seattle Seahawks
  • Shaquil Barrett – Tampa Bay Buccaneers

So, by the votes received, folks around the NFL believe that Cleveland has the No. 2 and No. 16 pass rushers in the NFL. For the Browns’ new-look defense led by defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who loves to unleash on the quarterback, this is a plus.
