What Stands Out From the Buccaneers' First Unofficial Depth Chart

Here's what we're seeing from Tampa Bay's first depth chart of the 2026 season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in New York to face off against the Jets during joint practice, which will culminate in a preseason game on Friday. The Bucs will have quite a few decisions to make once they see how their players look against other NFL teams over the next three weeks.

As of right now, though, they have at least a small idea. The Buccaneers put out their first unofficial depth chart of the year, and while it's mostly standard fare, there are a few interesting things to note.

Here's what we can glean from the Buccaneers' first depth chart of 2026:

Buccaneers Ready for Change at Outside Corner?

The Bucs have released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2026 season.

Perhaps the biggest thing to note about the depth chart is what's going on at outside cornerback.

As it stands, defensive back Jacob Parrish looks to hold the starting outside corner spot alongside Zyon McCollum. Parrish, who excelled at the nickel corner spot last season for Tampa Bay to the tune of two interceptions, was moved to the outside room this offseason after the Bucs drafted Miami standout Keionte Scott to fill in at the nickel spot.

Parrish notably displaces Benjamin Morrison, who was set to fill that role alongside McCollum this offseason. Morrison injured his hamstring after the first OTAs practice and has not practiced in team drills since then, so he's had no opportunity to show his worth against Parrish so far. With that in mind, the ranking makes sense.

That isn't the only interesting development on the defensive side of the depth chart, though.

SirVocea Dennis Still a Starter... For Now

Many Buccaneers fans and NFL draft pundits are excited to see what second-round pick Josiah Trotter can do at the linebacker position for Tampa Bay this season. At the moment, though, he isn't listed as the team's starter.

Last year's starter, linebacker SirVocea Dennis, remains the incumbent starter on the first unofficial depth chart. Trotter has made some big plays in camp so far, but at the moment, it seems the team is valuing Dennis' experience in the system as training camp continues.

Edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. is listed as the starter on this depth chart, so it doesn't appear to be a matter of rookies not being placed as starters. That being said, Trotter has certainly made more splash plays than Dennis has over the course of camp, so it would be no surprise to see him overtake Dennis at some point this preseason.

The Bucs will wait to see how he plays in a game scenario, it seems. And if Trotter lives up to the hype from training camp so far, he should see himself climb the depth chart.
