After a disappointing rookie campaign, Arizona Cardinals linebacker Zaven Collins managed to bounce back in 2022 at inside linebacker.

2023 will feature new beginnings for Collins, who is moving to outside linebacker under new defensive coordinator Nick Rallis.

"Zaven’s obviously got a diverse skillset and with that you can utilize him in a lot of different ways. Whether it’s playing linebacker, playing on the edge, blitzing off the middle, blitzing off the edge, dropping in the coverage— you can really do it all with him," said Rallis.

Collins was the team's first-round pick in 2021, but if the Cardinals had the opportunity to do things over, would they still take him?

The Athletic's Nick Baumgardner re-drafted the entire first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and rather than taking Collins, the Cardinals landed the dynamic talents of current Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown at pick No. 16:

Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown runs back to the huddle.

"Originally a fourth-round pick (No. 112), St. Brown has outperformed his draft slot by nearly every metric and was one of the NFL’s most productive chain-movers last season. He’s among the league’s most unique offensive weapons, too — he’s not an over-the-top deep threat but is dangerous in literally every other area of the game. His 5.1 yards after catch per reception in 2022 was 0.1 higher than Smith’s."

In The Athletic's re-draft, Collins was not taken in the first round.

We've seen how dynamic, young receivers can impact the game. Especially with DeAndre Hopkins out of the picture, the Cardinals could sure use St. Brown's presence.

However, Arizona seems to love the current path Collins is currently on.
