Former Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson Lists Two Teams Who Should Grab DeAndre Hopkins

The future of Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins continues to be a major talking point, as the two sides look to split and go their different ways.

Hopkins has been on the trade block for months now with no clear resolution in sight: Some believe the Cardinals will have to lower their asking price or release him in order to shed his high cap hit for 2023.

Former Cardinals and current Pittsburgh Steelers CB Patrick Peterson gave his two cents on Hopkins' situation and where he would like to see the All-Pro receiver head next:

"I don't know what advice I would be able to give D-Hop in this scenario because I was a free agent at the moment, he's looking to have to get traded or whatever the case may be. For me, I think the best thing for D-Hop is to find another uniform," Peterson said on NFL Total Access.

"Here's why: He came to the desert to play with Kyler Murray - Kyler Murray won't be under center for at least half of the season. With him being in this stage of his career - with me playing with D-Hop, practicing with D-Hop - I know the competitor that he is. He wants to have the opportunity to compete for a championship. Right now, it seems like Arizona is going into a rebuilding stage as they probably have been as the years pass through.

"I think the best fit for D-Hop is probably to find another team … I like him with the Jets, I know the Jets picked up a lot of key pieces/receivers, I know they got a lot of young receivers over there on the roster as well. But, I would not be disappointed to see him on the Miami Dolphins."

The Jets have reportedly been keeping tabs on Hopkins while the Dolphins are simply a dream scenario by Peterson, who shared a locker room with Hopkins previously in Arizona before hitting free agency and signing with the Minnesota Vikings.
