WATCH: Time-Lapse of Super Bowl LVII Field

State Farm Stadium is ready to host Super Bowl LVII. Here's a time-lapse of the field and more info about it.

PHOENIX -- We're just hours away from Super Bowl LVII, and State Farm Stadium is ready for another great spectacle within it's walls.

One of the more unique aspects of the game is the playing surface. Part of the special day in professional football is seeing the pristine grass with both teams' unique and colorful end zones.

Joe Pompliano revealed a pretty sweet time-lapse of the field at State Farm Stadium, which was grown for two years locally here and cost the NFL a total of $800,000 according to Pompliano.

Allegiant Stadium recently became the second NFL stadium to have a similar system where the field can be rolled out and exposed to natural sunlight with a dome to house the actual field on game day.

The NFL has employed groundskeeper George Toma (also known as the Sodfather) for every single Super Bowl. The 94-year-old will be doing his last game today.

"I believe the grass we have here today is the second-best grass we had for 57 Super Bowls," Toma said via dailymail

"It comes from West Coast farms located here in Phoenix, and it's a beautiful type of Bermuda Tahoma, and it's outstanding on the field right now. Even if it's getting beat pretty good by the halftime show practices."

Thus far, the grass looks pretty swell. We'll see how it holds up.
