The Arizona Cardinals are no strangers to trades, especially as of late.

The Cardinals made three trades on the same day earlier this week in attempts to shed dead weight (Isaiah Simmons) and maximize value of an offensive lineman (Josh Jones) while beefing up their quarterback room (Josh Dobbs).

Those moves came on the heels of an offseason where the Cardinals began their rebuild and parted ways with some notable names.

Arizona starting from square one - on top of their projected struggles for the 2023 season - has made the Cardinals somewhat of an easy target in terms of labeled sellers on the trade market.

Guys such as Budda Baker have been listed in trade speculation, though that was settled earlier in the offseason after Baker re-worked his deal with Arizona.

Zach Ertz has also been a frequent name tossed around in hypothetical trade talks, though no legitimate traction has been revealed.

Would the Cardinals deal their Pro Bowl tight end? Bleacher Report suggests they indeed should - and they know just the team to deal him to:

"There comes a point when an aging veteran takes away from the efforts of a rebuilding club. That's where it feels like Zach Ertz is with the Arizona Cardinals," wrote Alex Ballentine.

"Ertz, 32, was recently cleared to return to football activities following a knee injury he suffered in Week 10 last season. Prior to the injury, he was an important cog in the Cards passing attack with 406 yards on 47 receptions.

"However, the Red Birds also drafted Trey McBride in the second round in 2022. He flashed the ability to be the team's top tight end in his rookie season with 29 receptions for 265 yards.

"The Cards would save $10.1 million by trading the veteran tight end. With Jonathan Gannon taking over as head coach and Kyler Murray's questionable timeline to return to start the season, they should be thinking long-term.

"The Cowboys would make sense as a landing spot. After letting Dalton Schultz walk in free agency, they will be putting a lot of stock in second-year tight end Jake Ferguson and rookie Luke Schoonmaker.

"Unlike Arizona, they figure to be a contender. It would make sense to add a veteran like Ertz who could elevate the floor of the position group."

Ertz was recently activated off the PUP list and could very well be in the lineup for Arizona in Week 1.

Should the Cardinals choose to keep him (which is likely, but you never know) there is an out in his contract next season where Arizona could cut ties for only $5 million in dead cap according to Spotrac.
