NFL World Reacts to Cardinals Releasing DeAndre Hopkins

The Arizona Cardinals made it official on Friday morning: WR DeAndre Hopkins will no longer be playing football in the desert.

With anything, the NFL world went nuts over the newfound availability of one of the best receivers in the game, who will be on the hunt for a Super Bowl as he career begins to wind down.

We can first start this off with Von Miller, the Buffalo Bills OLB who has heavily recruited Hopkins to join his squad. To be fair, Hopkins has not been shy on his love for the Bills.

The jersey swaps are now able to be used in full force, though it could be tough for the Ravens to squeeze Hopkins in a receiving corps with Odell Beckham Jr., Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.

This is a long-term play from the Cardinals. Competing in 2023 was never the goal, given the current state of the team. Arizona will be loading up for 2024 and beyond.

The Cardinals take a $21M dead cap hit with the release of DeAndre Hopkins, but he's totally off the books for 2024.

Long-term, it's a smart move that's best for both sides. However, it's tough to watch a receiver of Hopkins' caliber walk for nothing.
