The Bolts would heavily improve with this selection.

The Los Angeles Chargers finished the 2023 season with a frustrating 5-12 record. It was a tough year all around, but due to their struggles, they do own a top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

New head coach Jim Harbaugh loves to have tough offensive lines, giving some thought to the team picking a lineman with the fifth overall selection. But there are plenty of solid offensive names that the Chargers could consider in the draft.

However, NFL.com draft analyst Chad Reuter projects the Chargers to forgo the offensive line help by taking one of the best prospects in the entire draft class. That would be Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, who excelled playing in the SEC.

Bowers has a chance to be the best player not named Caleb Williams in this draft because of his combination of reliable hands, strong running and blocking ability."

Per Chad Reuter of NFL.com

Bowers helped the Bulldogs win back-to-back national championships and would provide the Bolts with a true offensive weapon. Alongside Keenan Allen and whomever else the Bolts have at wide receiver next season, Bowers would give quarterback Justin Herbert a game-changing option.

His ability to get into open space due to his elusiveness allows quarterbacks to find him in the middle of the field. Bowers is also a good blocker, giving more flexibility to how a team could use him.

Last season for Georgia, Bowers put up 56 catches for 714 yards and six scores. In 2022, he had 63 catches for 942 yards and seven touchdowns.

He also can be used out of the backfield as well, typically on end around. Bowers rushed for 28 yards and one touchdown this season but did put up 109 and three scores in 2022.

The Bolts offense could really open up with Bowers in the middle of it, so it could be a match made in heaven.
