Chargers News: Justin Herbert Backs Alma Mater's Transition to Big 10 Conference

In this story:
Your Los Angeles Chargers are ready to embark on a new season with their franchise QB Justin Herbert. Herbert has been a revelation for the franchise when he was selected with the 6th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Justin was among the top quarterbacks in his class, hailing from the University of Oregon. He led the Ducks to Rose Bowl win in his senior season while dominating the Pac-12, something Oregon did for so many years last decade.
However, their days of dominating the Pac-12 are over, not because of their demise, but because they are transitioning to the Big 10 conference starting next season.
Herbert was asked about the transition by his alma mater and said that although he grew up with the Pac-10/12 and prefers things to stay the way they were, he will support his school no matter what.
"Growing up a Duck fan, it's always tough to kind of see the change like that," he said. "I grew up a Pac-10 fan, to the Pac-12; it's always weird change but I'm excited for Oregon. They've obviously got a tough schedule coming up and I'm all for that school; they've given me so much support and care over the years. All I can do is just reciprocate it. Whatever they end up doing, I'm all on board for them."

It was announced last week that the Ducks and the Washington Huskies will join their rivals USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins in the Big 10 to make it to 16 teams. Those four teams will be making trips to the mid-west and east coast on a weekly basis starting next season, and even though many aren't fans of it, it will benefit all parties.
The Pac-12 won't be how Justin came up in it, but he sure left his mark on the conference.
In four seasons, Herbert threw for 10,541 yards, 827 attempts, a completion percentage of 64%, 95 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions with a QBR of 75 and a rating of 153.1.
The Pro Bowler did it all in college and is doing the same and more at the next level.
Justin is looking for a great season with his Chargers and is hoping for the same of his Ducks.
