Chargers News: Offensive Star Realistically Pessimistic About LA's Postseason Odds

In this story:
The Chargers will look to have better luck next season after dropping their eighth game of the season to the Denver Broncos.
The loss to their rivals likely puts them out of the playoff race with just four games to go and with not enough ground to cover. This season will end as a disappointing one. After the loss, Chargers star running back Austin Ekeler spoke to team reporter Elliott Teaford from the OC Register and said he vows his team will continue to fight regardless of playoff seeding.
“At this point in the season it’s obviously frustrating,” Chargers running back Austin Ekeler said. “We’re looking at that playoff picture and it’s getting a lot harder for us the more we lose. It’s tough. Part of being in sports is there’s a reality to it. You have a perception of where we want to go.
“We’re fighting to win games, regardless of whether we have a chance or we don’t because we still have a job to do. If we have a chance, it’s something more to keep fighting for, which we still do. Even if it wasn’t there, guess what? We’re still going to come together. We’re still going to fight.”

It'll be easy to roll over and give up for the Bolts, but their leader is letting it be known they'll continue to compete, and that's precisely what you want to hear.
The Bolts and Ekeler aren't having the best of seasons. If it's not the only thing, it's another with his team, but fans will appreciate the fight. The Chargers are 5-8, the current 12th seed, with five teams in front of them in the race. And, Ekeler is having one of the worst seasons of his career, rushing for only 497 yards, tied for 36th, and five touchdowns, tied for 18th in the league.
Nonetheless, this team will fight till the end of it, and fans who have stuck with them deserve it.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Chargers as they are set to take on another division rival, the Las Vegas Raiders, on the road.
