Quarterback Jalen Hurts and receiver A.J. Brown spent a majority of an April 28, 2022 Facetime call they would later make public laughing after the latter had been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, seemingly aware of a secret that would soon be revealed to the rest of the NFL.

In their first season together, the two would become one of the most dynamic duos in the NFL.

Hurts exploded in his third season, finishing runner-up in NFL MVP voting as he tossed 22 touchdowns and ran for another 13. Brown had already been a star in three seasons with the Tennessee Titans, but he was named a Second-Team All-Pro after catching 88 passes for 1,496 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first season with the Eagles.

And so it should be no surprise that NFL Network unveiled its annual "Superstar Club," and both Hurts and Brown were granted entry.

Brown is back for the second year in a row, joined by Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders, Ja'Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals, Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills, Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams, CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys, D.K. Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks and Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers.

For Hurts, this is his first time being granted entry into the club:

"Hurts took a massive leap in his third season, becoming a consistent dominator for a loaded Eagles squad,” NFL.com writes. “We don't know if he'll match the dizzying heights he reached as a rusher of the football in 2022 … But he could get even better as a passer playing behind an elite offensive line and with playmakers all around him."

Hurts is one of seven quarterbacks on the countdown, along with Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals, Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets and Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.

Notably, both Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys and Russell Wilson of the Denver Broncos were kicked out of the club after disappointing to different degrees in 2022.

The Superstar Club considered quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends and kickers. Had offensive linemen been included, there's a good chance the Eagles would have had two more representatives in center Jason Kelce and right tackle Lane Johnson
