Detroit Lions' 2021 Schedule Release Tracker: Rumors and Reactions

The Detroit Lions will face 14 different opponents this upcoming season.

For the first time in decades, the National Football League has moved away from the traditional 16-game schedule, and has adopted a 17-game schedule.

For new Lions head coach Dan Campbell, his debut will come in the comforts of Ford Field, as it was announced that Detroit's Week 1 game will take place against the San Francisco 49ers.

While it was not expected, it has now been made official that Detroit will not be playing in any international games in 2021, as the Falcons are taking on the Jets from London in Week 5, while the Dolphins will play the Jaguars in Week 6.

Rumor: There is an unconfirmed rumor floating around that the Thanksgiving Day game could be against the Chicago Bears.

Update: 9:56 a.m. -- The Detroit Lions will be playing against the Bears on Thanksgiving.

Update: 10:07 a.m. -- The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the Lions' Week 14 opponent will be the Denver Broncos on the road.

Update: 11:20 a.m. -- The Lions will face the Green Bay Packers in Week 2 on Monday Night Football.

Update: 2 p.m. -- The Lions' season finale will take place at home against the Packers.
