Barry Sanders Welcomes Adrian Peterson to Detroit

On the list of all-time NFL rushing leaders, Barry Sanders ranks fourth.
On Sunday, the Detroit Lions signed the running back that is fifth on the all-time rushing list, Adrian Peterson, to a one-year contract worth $1.05 million plus incentives.
The Hall of Fame running back tweeted Sunday his excitement that a player with Peterson's pedigree will have a chance to play in Detroit.
"So excited to see @AdrianPeterson coming to the @Lions -- It will be great to have you in town," Sanders tweeted Sunday.

Peterson will be joining a running backs room that features D'Andre Swift, Kerryon Johnson, Bo Scarbrough and Ty Johnson.
Any knowledge that can be passed along to a young core of backs should aid the organization now and in the future.
The familiarity with offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell also makes the signing intriguing.
Peterson had his most productive seasons with the Minnesota Vikings while working with Bevell.
The former member of the Washington Football Team should be able to fit right in rather seamlessly while also aiding Detroit's rushing attack.
Detroit opens its 2020 season next Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
