Where Will Vaitai Play on Detroit Lions' Offensive Line?

Halapoulivaati Vaitai is finally active for the Detroit Lions, and will make his season debut Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.

Vaitai was a big free-agent addition for general manager Bob Quinn, and the hope was he would aid Detroit's rushing attack.

He was forced to miss Detroit's first two games because of a foot injury.

Where he likely plays in a crucial Week 3 game is still a question mark.

In training camp, Vaitai took snaps primarily at the right tackle position.

In warmups prior to Sunday's game, several reporters noted that Tyrell Crosby had been receiving more reps.

"Lions' offensive line looks like it will be Crosby at RT, Vaitai at RG and Jonah Jackson at LG," Justin Rogers of The Detroit News tweeted ahead of Detroit's game against the Cardinals.

One of the primary reasons Detroit drafted Jonah Jackson and have been impressed with his play has been his ability to play both guard positions.

Early in 2020, Jackson has played at right guard, and has held his own.

It will be worth paying attention this afternoon to how Detroit's re-shuffled offensive line performs against Arizona's defensive front.
