Las Vegas Raiders vs. Miami Dolphins LIVE Game Thread

The Las Vegas Raiders have traveled to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins in their third pre-season game of the 2022 season.

The Las Vegas Raiders enter this critical third pre-season game of the season today against the Miami Dolphins.

While the critical aspect of the contest is focused on the gentleman fighting to make the roster for the Silver and Black, it doesn't diminish those battles have on the overall team.  In today's NFL, no one can sustain a 17-game regular season without injuries.

Finding, and developing those backups is critical.

Remember the rule of five. If the Las Vegas Raiders win that key statistical battle, the game is over. For those who don't remember it, it has to do with sacks and turnovers. If the Raiders have three sacks and give up two, that means they are plus one. If they then get four turnovers and give up only one, that means they are plus three. That would give them a plus-four for the day. They want to get to a plus-five ratio every game. Teams that reach the rule of five scenarios win 91 percent of their NFL games on average.

HALFTIME:

---

In a game between two teams that figure to be in the playoff conversation for this season, the Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins have played a less than stellar half of football.

Both teams quarterbacks have made plays, with the Raiders Jarrett Stidham leading the games only touchdown drive, ran in by Zamir White.

Overall, the Raiders haven't been able to run the ball effectively, and the Dolphins only have four rushing yards in the first half.

What Raiders haven't been able to do is protect, giving up two sacks in the first half and other pressures.

The Raiders defense has been very bend but don't break, giving up several plays of 15 or more yards but holding the Dolphins to two field goals.

It could prove to be too much to ask to hold on to that approach for the rest of the game, which puts emphasis on the Raiders offense to put together drives.

SCORING UPDATE #5: 37-yard field goal attempt by Raiders placekicker Daniel Carlson is Good. Raiders lead 12-6 with 7:32 left to go in the third quarter.

TURNOVER: Dolphins turn the ball over on downs. Raiders will take over at their own 23-yard line.

END OF THIRD QUARTER: Raiders lead 12-6. Dolphins will have the ball, 2nd and 7, at their own 17-yard line.

START OF FOURTH QUARTER:

SCORING UPDATE #6: Dolphins Skylar Thompson throws a 19-yard touchdown pass. PAT is Good. Dolphins lead 13-12 with 10:27 left to go in the game.
