In this story:

The Las Vegas Raiders have many eyes on them and their moves ahead of next season, as it will undoubtedly be a very important one for many in and around the Raiders organization. Las Vegas will enter next season with many new players and coaches that will make the team much different than the one that took the field last year.

The Raiders also have many things they still need to figure out, such as who will be their starting quarterback next season, what to do with their offensive line and how to fill the void left by cornerback Amik Robertson. The Raiders' coaching staff and players will also likely still be getting used to each other around the start of the season.

Even after they figure out those things, as well as other questions surrounding their team, the Raiders will still enter the season with many unknowns. Their biggest unknown will be how well their new pieces fit together and how long they take to gel together.

Raiders general manager Tom Telesco has done an admirable job filling out the roster. However, no matter how good he does, the players still have to play well on the field. Telesco has made a splash signing and many more less noteworthy moves so far.

Either way, some on the national level believe the Raiders will win around six or so games this season.

ESPN projected each team’s win total for the upcoming season in a recent article, and the Raiders weren’t given a very optimistic outlook. According to their projected win totals, the Raiders will take a step back next season.

“The Raiders have gone over their win total in four of the last five seasons (went under with six wins with an 8.5 total in 2022," ESPN said. This is the Raiders' second straight season with a 6.5 win total, tied for their lowest since 2019 (6, went over).”

On paper, with the draft yet to happen and free agency far from over, experts are likely looking at those things, as well as the fact that the Raiders have a first-time head coach, and feel like those are enough reasons to temper expectations for the Silver and Black.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
