Anticipation Building for Las Vegas Raiders RB Zamir White's 2024 Season

There is lots of excitement for Las Vegas Raiders third-year running back Zamir White this upcoming season.

One of the most considerable losses the Las Vegas Raiders suffered this free agency was that of five-year starting running back Josh Jacobs.

However, the Raiders are very excited about third-year running back Zamir White, who showed many promising flashes toward the end of the 2023 season.

White played in all 17 games in his second season with the Silver and Black, rushing for 521 yards and one touchdown on 121 attempts.

White's best game last season came in Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs, in which he finished the game rushing on 22 carries for 145 yards in the Raiders' 20-14 upset of their biggest rival. It was one of White's two 100-plus-yard rushing outings for the Silver and Black last season.

With White ending his second season on a very high note, his teammates couldn't be more excited for what is to come for the young running back.

“Yeah, I think Z, really the whole year from the preseason on, we were super excited about,” said Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell when he addressed media members on Monday. “We definitely knew he could be a great player. Obviously, we’re going to miss JJ [Jacobs] because he was an awesome player and an awesome guy.

"But Zamir, especially the Christmas Day game against the Chiefs, took advantage of his opportunities. He’s a soft-spoken guy, but man, works his butt off. Does things the right way, the hard way. And it’ll be super exciting to see what he can do this year with a full offseason and definitely a head of steam and momentum.”

Raiders center Andre James also expressed his excitement for White's upcoming season.

"Oh yeah, it will be fun blocking for him," James said. "Super excited to get him back and watch him run the ball."

White finished the 2023 season with a 71.7 overall offensive grade from Pro Football Focus.

All eyes will be on White this offseason as he prepares for his third season and likely takes over as the starting running back for the Silver and Black next season.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently have the No. 13 overall pick.
