Raiders Recap of the 2023 NFL Off-Season So Far

In this story:
The Las Vegas Raiders, like many teams, have had a busy 2023 NFL offseason.
The Raiders had a very busy month of March, when NFL free agency began on March 15. Since then, the Raiders have sighed 17 new players.
In this article recaps some of the major off-season signings the Raiders have made so far during the 2023 NFL off-season.
Starting off, the Las Vegas Raiders signed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on March 13. After the departure of quarterback Derek Carr, the Raiders were in desperate need of a quarterback. The Raiders found their guy in Garoppolo, who brings many playoff experiences and even Super Bowl experiences to the team.
Jimmy Garoppolo spent three seasons earlier in his career in New England backing up quarterback Tom Brady, who recently retired this off-season. Garoppolo also was with, at the time, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who is the Raiders' head coach. Garoppolo was later traded to San Francisco, where he spent six seasons as the starting quarterback for the 49ers.
Marcus Epps was also a major signing for the Raiders this off-season. Epps started his career with the Minnesota Vikings, then was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles early in his career. Epps spent four seasons as a starting cornerback for the Eagles and is coming off a Super Bowl experience this past season. The Raiders' depth at the cornerback position was very needed, so Epps will be able to fill the gap really well.
Lastly, a move by the Raiders this offseason was using their franchise tag on star running back Josh Jacobs, who has spent the last four seasons with the team that drafted him back in 2019.
Jacobs has become one of the fan favorites in Vegas, especially coming off a very impressive 2022 NFL season. Jacobs has proven himself to be one best running backs for the Raiders. Franchising Jacobs was a major off-season move for the Raiders.
