The new NFL League Year is right around the corner, as the 'legal tampering' period opens on Monday ahead of the start of things on Wednesday afternoon. Over the next couple of months, we'll get many answers to our questions when it comes to the Saints in what figures to be a pivotal year in New Orleans.

As always around this time of year, we bring you a one-stop shop when it comes to the Saints and free agency with our tracker. Here you'll find all of the latest and greatest when it comes to moves, rumors and any relevant information for the black and gold.

We've mentioned this previously, but we don't anticipate the Saints to go for some of the big prizes in free agency when it opens. The team is managing their cap situation and were beneficiaries of the salary cap rising. New Orleans will look to re-sign a good bit of their guys and possibly make moves similar to last offseason.

Latest Saints Rumors and News

  • 3/15 - Isaac Yiadom has signed a one-year deal with the 49ers. It's a fairly big loss for the Saints. Yiadom was a strong special teams player and got starts at corner due to injury, finishing Top-10 in pass breakups last season. New Orleans really needs to make sure they keep Marshon Lattimore.
  • 3/14 - Isaac Yiadom is visiting the Commanders on Thursday, and other teams are reportedly in the mix. (source); Marcus Maye is drawing interest from several teams, but will visit with the Titans on Monday. (source)
  • 3/13 - Michael Thomas and Jameis Winston have both been designated as post-June 1 releases. Andrus Peat is also officially a free agent. (article)
  • 3/13 - Hunter Renfrow has been released by the Raiders. We fully expect the Saints to be interested, as it's hardly a surprise at this point.
  • 3/12 - Saints have terminated the contract of Marcus Maye.
  • 3/12 - Malcolm Roach heads to the Broncos to reunite with Sean Payton on a two-year, $8 million deal.
  • 3/11 - Browns are reportedly interested in Jameis Winston as a backup to Deshaun Watson. He signed a one-year deal with Cleveland that is worth up to $8.7 million.
  • 3/11 - Lonnie Johnson Jr. said via his personal social media account that he's going to be a free agent. He notes that the two sides tried but couldn't get a deal done. He later announced that he signed with the Texans.
  • The Saints could be looking at the offensive line to get them across the finish line for cap space and also creating space. Look at James Hurst and Ryan Ramczyk.
  • 3/10 - Saints will not be tendering Lynn Bowden Jr., who was a RFA. He could be an option to return, but is also recovering from offseason surgery. (article)
  • 3/9 - A report emerged that the Saints were looking to trade Demario Davis in addition to Marshon Lattimore. On Davis, was told that wasn't happening.
  • 2/29 - New Orleans will be releasing Marcus Maye. (article)
  • Former receiver Deonte Harty was recently released by the Bills and was spotted in New Orleans. As of right now, nothing is in the works.
  • Michael Thomas is obviously not expected to be back with the Saints. The whole 'releasing' concept might be stemmed from a future guaranteed bonus of $119M triggering if he's on the roster 3/15. He was always expected to be a free agent.
  • The door is not closed on Jameis Winston returning, but we anticipate him testing the market.
  • It's honestly a toss-up with regards to Marshon Lattimore being traded, but New Orleans still views him highly. This isn't a C.J. Gardner-Johnson situation, so there's no rush to do any type of trade if they wanted to.
  • Defensive Tackle Malcolm Roach will test the market, but could be a candidate to return.
  • The team is interested in re-signing Johnathan Abram, Lonnie Johnson Jr. and Isaac Yiadom.
  • Taysom Hill and Alvin Kamara are both expected to be apart of the offensive plans in 2024, so it would be absolutely stunning to see either of them get traded. Jamaal Williams also sounds like he's going to be back in.
  • As of right now, there's no plans to swap Trevor Penning from the left tackle spot. That could absolutely change, but the team is going to keep him there for the foreseeable future.

Restructures

Candidates: Taysom Hill ($6.6 million), Alvin Kamara ($8 million)
