Saints' Star WR Getting Trade Buzz As Fit For AFC Contender

In this story:
The New Orleans Saints have a huge decision to make in the coming weeks. Star wide receiver Chris Olave has been mentioned as a big trade chip this season. There's a chance that Olave is the biggest name moved at the deadline, if the Saints opt to trade him.
But that's where the decision gets difficult. Olave is still under contract for another year with the Saints. They don't need to trade him. He hasn't requested a trade or anything of that sort. If the Saints were to trade him, it would be because they want to lean into the rebuild. As the days go by, this idea makes more sense.
CBS Sports' Tyler Sullivan recently put together a list of potential suitors for Olave this season and the Pittsburgh Steelers were one of the top names on the list.
Steelers make sense as the best fit for Saints star Chris Olave

"Pittsburgh is in playoff contention as the Aaron Rodgers experiment has largely gotten off to a roaring success," Sullivan wrote. "To make it count, however, the Steelers would be wise to continue searching the receiver market to improve their offense. Currently, Metcalf is the lone receiver that the Steelers have confidence in. Through six games, Metcalf has 406 yards on the season. The next-highest producing receiver is Calvin Austin III with 139 yards receiving. Pittsburgh desperately needs a second option for Rodgers outside of Metcalf, and Olave would fit that bill splendidly."
The Steelers desperately need another wide receiver. DK Metcalf has been good as the team's top star, but he needs a second star next to him. Adding Olave would be the perfect solution because it makes them better right now and in the future, especially if the Steelers are able to re-sign him. This would give the Steelers one of the best wide receiver duos in football.
For the Saints, it would make sense if they can grab a top pick or multiple mid round picks from the Steelers. The Steelers have some extra draft picks over the course of the next few years, so making a deal like this wouldn't be absurd. Both teams could walk away with a brighter future.
