The Seattle Seahawks were the talk of the NFL during the first wave of free agency, but they've done very little to upgrade arguably their biggest weakness. The team needs help along the offensive line after largely ignoring the trenches in free agency.

Seattle released veteran offensive tackle George Fant and signed career backup Josh Jones. With Sam Darnold replacing for Geno Smith, the team needs to do everything possible to protect its new $100 million quarterback.

Since Darnold struggles under pressure, the Seahawks would be wise to invest in their interior offensive line. Most of the top free agents are off the market so the draft is Seattle's last chance to upgrade up front.

Pro Football Focus released a new feature highlighting two draft options for each team's biggest need. Unsurprisingly, PFF focused on Seattle's offensive line. The first name mentioned was North Dakota State's Grey Zabel.

"Zabel offers the versatility to play multiple spots along the interior offensive line, giving the Seahawks a high-floor option to address their biggest need," wrote PFF's Jordan Plocher.

Ideally, the Seahawks would add someone capable of strengthening the interior and the North Dakota State product is someone scouts believe can play all five positions. Zabel played exclusively at left tackle in 2024 but has logged snaps at the other four positions over the last two seasons.

If Seattle prefers to target an offensive lineman on Day 3 of the draft, PFF suggested LSU's Miles Frazier. The Tigers offensive lineman also has some versatility, playing both guard and tackle in college, but he projects as a guard in the NFL.

"Frazier is another strong candidate—he finished the 2024 season with an 88.0 PFF pass-blocking grade and didn’t allow a single sack all year," concluded Plocher.

Fortunately for Seattle, the team has plenty of draft capital to upgrade the offensive line. Currently, the Seahawks hold five selections within the first 100 picks, and 10 overall.
