Change is a necessary part of life in the NFL, but not every move is going to work out. The Seattle Seahawks are hoping their decision to move on from starting quarterback Geno Smith and two most accomplished wide receivers doesn't come back to bite them.

Despite winning 10 games in the first season under head coach Mike Macdonald, the Seahawks opted to trade stability for potential by giving Sam Darnold a three-year, $100 million contract and pairing him with veteran wideout Cooper Kupp.

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald met with reporters at the NFL owners meetings and fielded questions about the new-look offense. When asked if he believes the offense has improved from last year, Macdonald gave a diplomatic answer.

"It's different," responded Macdonald. "I mean we have a long way to go so. We have different players in the building and we're really excited about those guys, but as a football team, we have to do a great job throughout the offseason program installing our process again. Not skipping steps.

It's anyone's guess if these moves are going to work out, but you can't be scared of change in this league. It's clear that Macdonald and general manager John Schneider aren't afraid to do what they believe is best for the team.

"It's hard to evaluate where we are in terms of last year because there's so many different pieces," concluded Macdonald.
