What Seahawks Are Losing in Jake Bobo After Knee Injury

In this story:
Jake Bobo might not be the best player for the Seattle Seahawks, especially in the wide receiver room, but he is still someone that brings a lot of impact both on and off the field.
Bobo only had two catches for 20 yards during the 2025 regular season, but he stepped up when it mattered most in the playoffs, catching a touchdown pass from Sam Darnold in the NFC Championship against the Los Angeles Rams. Darnold even compared him to Devon Witherspoon, who many regard as the team's best defensive player.
"It hurts, man," Darnold said via the team's website. "He's one of those guys, he works, he talks a lot of stuff. He's kind of like Spoon (Devon Witherspoon) in a way, offensively. He brings the juice every single day, and he just does his job. It sucks to lose Bobo, but I know he's going to attack it and be better whenever he comes back."
Why Jake Bobo is a Bigger Loss Than Many Think

Bobo entered restricted free agency at the end of the season, and the Seahawks could have simply moved on after the Jacksonville Jaguars agreed to an offer sheet with him. The Seahawks proved how much they value him by matching that deal, giving him a two-year contract with the team.
Bobo's injury doesn't automatically end his Seahawks tenure, as he still has that 2027 season in his contract. He's clearly someone who has a lot of influence in the locker room, which won't exactly be lost with him no longer on the field.
"He's a beast, man," Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said via the team's website. "He's a just a great football player, a great Seahawk, hopefully we reflected that in our investment in him. We love him, we'll be there beside him as he recovers, and pray it's a speedy recovery. We love him."
This is the first major injury the Seahawks have dealt with during training camp this year, which definitely affects team morale. Seattle will look to rally behind Bobo as a unit as they go into their second preseason contest against the Tennessee Titans. Kickoff is scheduled for tomorrow at 5 p.m. PT inside Nissan Stadium. Fans can watch the game on FOX.
