Seahawks add massive Michigan defensive tackle in 2025 NFL mock draft

The Seattle Seahawks have made their defense a priority under head coach Mike Macdonald. Last year, the team drafted blue-chip Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy in Round 1. Would the Seahawks consider taking another defensive lineman in the 2025 NFL draft?
In a new mock from CBS Sports, Seattle drafts massive Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant with pick No. 18. Despite his size, the 6-foot-3, 330-pounder isn't your typical nose tackle, as Wilson explains below.
"Don't be fooled by the fact that Kenneth Grant weighs 331 pounds," wrote CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson. "He's a freakish athlete for any size and has a knack for getting his hands up in passing lane and knocking the ball down. He has a surprisingly quick first step and uses his hands well to shoot gaps and be a disruptive presence in the backfield."

Grant is still athletic enough to line up at multiple spots in Macdonald's defense, making him an interesting fit. While the Seahawks are fairly strong up front, it never hurts to add to a strength.
Plus, the team has a few key defensive linemen set to become free agents at the start of the new league year. With Jarran Reed and Jonathan Hankins potentially on the way out, Grant would be an ideal replacement who could contribute in Week 1.
The former Wolverines defensive lineman recorded 38 QB hurries and eight sacks over the last two seasons at Michigan. Grant is the 15th-rated player on the Pro Football Focus big board. ESPN's rates Grant as the 18th-best player in the draft, which is the same number as the Seahawks' first-round pick in 2025.
