The Pittsburgh Steelers could be a team monitoring Tyreek Hill.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers got a good sign of life from their wide receivers in their preseason opener as Roman Wilson and Scotty Miller both looked impressive. But the team's aggressive approach this offseason leaves the door open for more additions, and the new name to watch is Tyreek Hill.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, teams are monitoring a potential trade of Hill, who has had a bumpy road with the Miami Dolphins.

"I have talked to a few teams who are at least monitoring his future a little bit," Fowler said on SportsCenter. "Could he be a potential trade target? Now, I know the Dolphins earlier this summer were telling teams, ‘No, we’re not trading Tyreek Hill.’ But they just wonder, is he going to be available? It could be wishful thinking, maybe they want him to be available. But he’s a player, when I bring up to teams, ‘Hey, who is sort of a trade target you’re watching?’ — they bring up Tyreek Hill. So, we’ll see. He’s a big option for Tua [Tagovailoa], that would be a major move if they did move away from him."

The Steelers have reportedly called the Washington Commanders to check in on Terry McLaurin and made themselves and their willingness to make a splash known twice this offseason with the additions of DK Metcalf and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

So, maybe they're monitoring Hill? Last offseason, the Steelers had their eyes on a wide receiver trade, and were looking at Metcalf, San Francisco 49ers' Brandon Aiyuk, and, well, Hill.

Hill is 31-years-old and coming off a 959-yard and six-touchdown season. The year before, he led the league with 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Hill has two years left on his contract with a $27 million cap hit this year and a $51.8 million cap hit next year. He could be released with $15.5 million dead cap hit after the 2025 season.

The Steelers would immediately make Hill their starting wide receiver alongside Metcalf, with Austin becoming their WR3. The move would just showcase once again that they're "all in" on a Super Bowl run this year with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback.

Maybe Pittsburgh isn't at the top of the list for Hill, but it's hard to imagine they aren't having some conversation about it. And if they think they can pull off a deal within the limits they deem acceptable, they could re-ignite their interest in the Dolphins star wide receiver.
