In this story:

The Pittsburgh Steelers have the itinerary for their offseason program leading up to training camp.

As reported by ESPN's Brooke Pryor, the Steelers willl have their "first day" under new head coach Mike McCarthy on April 7.

From there, Pittsburgh's voluntary minicamp is set to take place from April 20 to 22, meaning it will conclude a day before Day 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, which the city itself will host for the first time.

The Steelers will then commence OTA offseason workouts on May 18, then take a day-long break before resuming on May 20 and 21.

After another short interruption in the action, the team will get back together from May 28-29, then they'll have right around two weeks off from OTAs before resuming from June 8-9 and then from June 11 - 12.

One of the reasons for the break in OTAs is for mandatory minicamp, which will include rookies after they won't be present for voluntary minicamp, and that will be conducted from June 2 to June 4.

With a new staff in town and plenty of fresh faces on the roster as well, the Steelers have a lot of work to get to before the 2026 NFL season officially begins.

Where Steelers Currently Stand

Now that Pittsburgh has its camp dates set, and with the draft rapidly approaching, the organization can essentially focus on putting the final touches on its roster.

Now, the team's incoming class of rookies is a big piece of the puzzle, and with 12 picks currently in hand, there's a chance that the Steelers will have a major infusion of young talent on their roster in short order.

From a veteran perspective, however, Pittsburgh's work is all but done outside of one major piece: Aaron Rodgers.

The hope had been that the 42-year-old and four-time MVP would have already made his intentions known to the Steelers in terms of whether or not he'll be playing for the team in 2026, but that has yet to occur.

Owner Art Rooney II told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac at the league meetings that he still believes an answer is coming from Rodgers before the draft, but it remains to be seen if that timeline is met.

As a result, those aforementioned final touches for the Steelers, being the draft and Rodgers, are rather massive and consequential for the outlook of their 2026 campaign.
