The Commanders and Terry McLaurin have a deal.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the wide receiver has agreed to a three-year, $96 million contract extension with Washington, tying him to the club through the 2028 NFL season. The pact includes a $30 million signing bonus, per Tom Pelissero.

Terry McLaurin Contract Negotiation Timeline

This new deal has been a long time coming for McLaurin. The 29-year-old had been in a contract dispute with the team since the beginning of the offseason, sitting out of both voluntary OTAs and mandatory veteran minicamp this spring. He then—in good faith—reported to Washington four days into training camp, was placed on the PUP list, and subsequently requested a trade from the club.

After passing his physical just over a week ago, however, McLaurin was moved to the active roster while negotiations seemingly ramped up. Now? He's getting paid.

McLaurin has tallied five straight 1,000+ yard seasons with the Commanders and hauled in a career-high 13 touchdowns last season from rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. He'll now work to get back in sync with the Washington offense ahead of their Sept. 7 opener against the New York Giants.
