Hopkins comes in as the second-highest rated Titan(93 Overall) after star running back Derrick Henry(94 Overall). If Hopkins comes in and plays like the second-best player on the team, the Titans are surely in for a treat.
Hopkins is followed by safety Kevin Byard(Overall 92) and Jeffery Simmons(Overall 89), but the list gets most interesting when we get to the fifth spot. The fifth-highest rated Tennessee Titan this year is punter Ryan Stonehouse(82 Overall).
Stonehouse did have a great year for the Titans in 2022 as a rookie. He made second-team All-Pro while leading the NFL in yards per punt and total punt yardage, but it still is a bit of a shock to see the punter over players like Harold Landry, Denico Autry or Chig Okonkwo.
Sure, you like to see Stonehouse get the respect his play commands, but if Stonehouse is rated as an 82 Overall and the players named are rated lower, that sort of cheapens some of the excitement for Stonehouse.
Going forward, the Titans should see significant change in their top-five players throughout the season in the iconic video game. Former Alabama back, Derrick Henry, will likely remain at the top, but we should see names like Treylon Burks, Landry or Okonkwo contend for that final spot.
At the end of the day though, it is just a video game and the games that actually matter will begin soon enough. The Titans are much more concerned about having the best players in those games. Maybe if they do enough winning there, their players will get a fair shake in the virtual world as well.
