Titans Coach Mike Vrabel Undecided on Starting QB Going Forward Between Ryan Tannehill and Will Levis

The Tennessee Titans have a decision to make at quarterback soon as Ryan Tannehill gets back to health, but despite rookie Will Levis playing well in two games in Tannehill's absence, Mike Vrabel isn't ready to declare a starter.

The Tennessee Titans may have lost 20-16 to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday Night Football, but the lasting feeling is mostly positive for the Titans as the progress of rookie quarterback Will Levis was encouraging.

However, Levis only got to play because starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill was injured. With Tannehill healing and potentially being available to play soon, it creates the question of who will be the starter going forward.

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel was asked that on Friday and was not ready to give an answer.

"No, I'm not ready to do that yet," Vrabel said. "Think we'll have a conversation with the depth chart over the weekend and we'll have the depth chart or something close to it available when we talk to you on Tuesday to be able to go through the moving parts and not only Ryan's health, but whatever there is going on on the offensive line, which there is coming out of that game."

The Titans get somewhat of a mini-bye week after playing on a short week in Week 9. The Titans will have ten days to prepare for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and with that extra time could make changes all over the depth chart.

Quarterback will obviously get the most attention though. Some may be frustrated by Vrabel's answer because some want a commitment to Levis now. Not only because Levis looks to be the future of the position for the team, but Levis might be the better player right now as well.

Although Vrabel didn't say it, it would be employment suicide for Vrabel to go back to Tannehill now and despite his refusal to anoint Levis, you have to think Vrabel is aware that Levis needs to play going forward.

Either way, we will not get a firm answer any time soon as Vrabel has said he will not discuss the depth chart until after the weekend, likely on Tuesday of Week 10. Again, it may be frustrating for fans, but we should still expect Vrabel to make the smart move and roll with Levis, even if he didn't announce it.
